Moriah Boone’s Life Before Moving to LA

Boone was born in Show Low, Arizona, and was adopted by a family in Prescott, where she grew up. In a January 2025 “Coffee & Conversations” interview with Olivia Lyall, she described Prescott as “beautiful” and joked that she would often pronounce it “Prescitt.”

At 26, Boone left behind a pre-veterinary degree from Arizona State University (ASU) and moved to Los Angeles to pursue acting.

“I was like, you know, I can go to vet school any time, any age, and revisit that, but then this, I feel like you kind of is best to do it younger and before you know kids, before marriage, before things, things get really heavy, so that was my thought process,” Boone explained.

Boone first dabbled in acting and modeling during college to help cover expenses, but at the time, she was deeply shy. She admitted she would often stand at the back during group performances, even hiding behind her hair so people wouldn’t look at her.

With time, she realized that confidence comes from accepting yourself, and that realization gave her the courage to act. Although she still finds performance nerve-racking, she has learned to “love the ride.”

When asked about her career focus, Boone said acting has become her priority, while veterinary school remains a future possibility. “But that the more I’m out of school, the more I’m like, wo,w I would have to go back and do Math and Science… We’ll see,” she said.

Her acting training includes Anthony Meindl Acting, Actor’s Fast Track, Zak Barnett Studios, and faith-based training with Actors, Models, and Talent for Christ (AMTC).

The arts were part of her life from an early age, with ballet, hip-hop, gymnastics, and guitar lessons encouraged by her adoptive father, a musician. She is also a licensed motorcyclist, adding to her versatility.

Moriah Boone on Embracing Vertical Media

In recent years, Boone has become a familiar face in vertical short dramas, a format she acknowledges has faced skepticism.

In a Thanksgiving message to fans in November 2024, the actress described vertically shot media as the “new kid on the block” in TV and film, noting that many people don’t take it seriously. Boone said vertical media is “new and different.”

She compared it to how audiences once doubted platforms like MySpace, Facebook, and TikTok, noting that she has personally felt that same skepticism as a vertical actor. Still, Boone said the format has connected her with many like-minded individuals.

“Heck, I was even initially skeptical myself, but after meeting so many wonderful and talented individuals, I can say I am eternally grateful that I took the leap and went VERTICAL.. Here’s to the first of many vertical gatherings! Happy Verts-giving, y’all,” she said.
