Eric Guilmette is one of the most promising actors currently starring in vertical dramas. He has won awards and has even appeared in a film for Amazon Prime. Let’s get to know him!
Most people are familiar with online content creators, many of whom often include some acting in their videos. But a few people may not realize that some of the content currently rising on social media and on separate apps is actually short fictional dramas and movies recorded vertically for easy access.
Eric Taylor Guilmette is one of the actors leading many of these projects. Whether he’s playing a werewolf, a vampire hunter, or a grumpy billionaire, he’s become a fan favorite, but there’s a lot more to him than just his acting.
Eric Guilmette’s Work
The actor was born in Massachusetts, but he moved to Southern California in October 2019 without much of a plan. In an interview with Canvas Rebel in 2023, Guilmette admitted that he wasn’t sure what to do, except that it had to be something that would make him happy and complete.
He ended up booking an editorial shoot as a model, and then he got a campaign and decided that could be his career.
“Very early on, I decided I was a business, and I operated as a business. I thought of every connection as an opportunity, every event as a chance, and every shoot as potentially my last,” he explained.
Soon enough, he became an actor, shining the most on vertical dramas, earning several accolades at last year’s Vertical Drama Love Fan Awards. In September 2025, he was also honored with the Sapphire Vision Award at the Vertical Awards.
Aside from micro-dramas, he also appeared in “Tails of Christmas,” a film that premiered in November 2024 on Great American Family and Amazon Prime.
But acting isn’t his only passion. He’s also a producer. Furthermore, Guilmette has been on the covers of over 200 romance novels, including “Liars Like Us” by J.T. Geissinger and “Blood Day” by Lexi C. Fross. But he isn’t just a pretty face and has delved into writing himself.
In August 2025, he released “sex and oatmeal,” his debut poetry book, which immediately jumped to number one on the newly released poetry section of Amazon.
Eric Guilmette, the Vertical Legend
Guilmette was honored with several awards in 2024, including Best Actor in a Drama, Best On-Screen Couple, Best On-Screen Duo, Swoonworthy Scene, Best One-Liner, and the Vertical Legend. Many of these were for his role as Henry in the micro-drama “You Belong With Me.”
In May 2025, the actor sat down with Jen Cooper from Vertical Drama Love for an exclusive interview, where he revealed what he thought about his wins, the fans that made it possible, and a few comments on the role that made it possible.
“It was my fifth vertical at the time. I had done a lot of werewolves to that point. That was my first romantic comedy that I had done. Me and Emma [Hullar] had really great energy and a really good connection,” he said, when asked about the scene that won for being most swoon worthy.
He was surprised that it wasn’t a particularly steamy scene, but one where the main female character cries into his shoulder.
“My first instinct would have been that a sexy scene would be nominated. But the fact that this emotional scene was the one that was nominated and won tells a lot about the fan base,” he continued. “I think the viewers watch that, and they go, ‘My God, this is a man who is actually putting his partner first above work.'”
When asked what winning Best Actor meant to him, Guilmette said that it gives visibility to actors in the vertical world.

“I think vertical actors can feel like we are just cast because we are ‘attractive’ and not for our acting abilities. You’ve enabled us to feel celebrated for acting,” he added. “So winning this for playing Henry Lockwood in ‘You Belong With Me,’ being the Best Lead Actor in a Drama, meant so much to me because it made me feel validated.”
Cooper then explained that she created the category of Vertical Legend because she wanted to recognize someone who defined this rising genre. Many of Guilmette’s projects have been fans’ first micro-dramas.
“I was not expecting to win that award,” Guilmette responded when asked how he felt about this accolade. “Like you said, in the Oscars, they have a lifetime achievement award. That’s what this award felt like for me.”
He went on to explain that many of his colleagues in this field hope to leave their mark and tell stories that have become escapism for audiences.
“For me, the reason why I love verticals is because of that. This means so much to so many people,” Guilmette expressed. “The ways that we’re able to impact people just by being able to make art, that’s really cool. I love being able to interact with the fans because that’s the coolest part about social media — I get to see how much this means to each of them.”
He finished the interview by thanking the fans who voted in all those categories.
Eric Guilmette’s Vertical Dramas
As mentioned, his most successful miniseries is “You Belong With Me,” where Guilmette plays Henry, a man who is seduced by Kristine, his nephew’s fiancée, who wants to seek revenge for being cheated on.
Another must-watch is “Love & Blood,” where the actor plays Noah, a vampire hunter who helps a friend infiltrate an elite family of vampires in search of a long-lost twin.
You also can’t miss “Seducing Mr. Sterling: The Ice-Cold Heir,” where Guilmette plays Ethan, a CEO. Emma is forced to seduce him by Ethan’s brother, who promises to pay for her sister’s medical treatment if she catches him in a compromising situation. But things don’t go as they expect.
Some of his other vertical dramas include: “Chosen By Fate,” “Campus Rivals,” “Dungeons of Ecstasy,” “The Unwanted Mate,” “Devil’s Triangle,” “Boss Please Behave,” “The Alpha King,” and many others.
