jAlessia Medina is the kind of actress most people want to see online right now. Her ability to transition between cosplaying/fantasy-inspired roles to more realistic female characters will only make her a big star in the future.
The internet is filled with so much audiovisual content that it often seems like apps and streaming sites are all competing to get your attention, one way or another. But many production companies have discovered the appeal of micro-dramas.
And so have many talented people, like Alessia Medina, who started her acting journey at a very young age and continues to hone her craft while opening up to the growing world of miniseries that can amass thousands of views easily. Let’s discover more about her!
Getting to Know Alessia Medina
During a September 23, 2025, interview with Jen Cooper from Vertical Drama Love, Medina explained more about herself. Some fans might know her best as Fall, which is her cosplay artistic moniker.
For anyone who doesn’t know, Medina is from Sydney, Australia, but she has a very distinct accent because she grew up in a multicultural household as her family emigrated from Argentina to escape a dictatorship.
The reason they chose the land down under over the United States was because they saw an Australian catalogue and thought everything looked more “luxurious.”
Now, Medina considers herself a “child of the world” and acknowledges that many Australians probably have a similar background, as there was significant migration over the past centuries, and after World War II.
During the interview, the actress was also asked about her childhood, in particular about her taste in books and stories. Surprisingly, she wasn’t a huge fantasy fan growing up. Unlike most of her friends, she didn’t like “Harry Potter.”
At the time, she was given a too-advanced copy for her reading level, and she didn’t like how unrealistic magic seemed. Fortunately, she eventually went back to read the books at 16 and loved them. Still, for the most part, she loved spy novels, history, and astronomy.
Her favorite books were the “Cherub” series from Robert Muchamore, and her favorite movies include “Treasure Planet,” “Atlantis,” and “The Road to El Dorado.” She also adores “The Hunger Games.”
Alessia Medina’s Acting
She has been acting since the age of seven, but her professional work started at 16. Despite her aversion to fantasy, one of her most consistent jobs has been as part of a Dungeons & Dragons-inspired web series, “1 For All,” where she plays Nexie and a few other characters.
This falls right into her work as a cosplayer. She has also acted as Zelda in a miniseries based on the game. Because of these opportunities, Medina has had to brush up on major fantasy stories, like “The Lord of the Rings” and “Star Wars.”
Her experience in vertical dramas started around 2024. She didn’t know about this emerging new format until she was pitched a story for TikTok and agreed to sign on for the project.
That’s when she discovered the incredible reach of this rising format, which she doesn’t believe is so different from more mainstream spaces. Many people she’s working with on vertical dramas are also part of productions for HBO, Disney, etc.
So, she believes this is simply another “branch of the industry” that has helped the acting business become more sustainable for regular actors. Some people are able to find consistent work and actually make a living. Contrary to popular belief, not everyone earns millions of dollars in Hollywood.
Her approach is to treat these stories like telenovelas or soap operas, which are designed to entertain a broader audience with a simple story.
Alessia Medina’s Opinion on Vertical Dramas
While Medina loves that she gets to collaborate with the production teams on many of her projects, she pointed out during the interview that there isn’t much variety in terms of micro-drama storylines.
Additionally, many scripts pit female characters against each other, so she wants more tales about female friendship.
Furthermore, she believes in responsible storytelling and has often talked to directors to suggest changes to avoid making characters look a certain way or to be more sensitive to audiences.
Medina wants any vertical dramas focused on LGBTQ+ or other important relationships to include people with lived experiences, so the portrayal will be honest and fulfilling.
Some of her best vertical miniseries are “My Contract Husband Falls for Me,” “The Heiress Blacklisted Her Husband,” “The Billionaire Firefighter and His Sweet Wife,” and “Heiress Return: Boss’s Defense & Love.”
Alessia Medina’s Upcoming Work
Medina has started working on her own YouTube streaming content, and she will also be filming a long-form version of “1 for All,” which will provide a deeper backstory for her character.
Furthermore, the actress is in talks for filming overseas, and although she couldn’t confirm anything, she’ll very likely be in more micro-dramas soon. Are you ready to step into her world?
